Datatask is a true leader and innovator in the e-Learning industry.

Datatask Overview

After spending 14 years as a classroom based training organisation, Datatask undertook to convert existing materials into CBT format. Two years later, Datatask took the next step and produced e-Learning training, including the development of e-Learning authoring and learning management tools to provide for easy development and delivery of e-Learning courseware. Today, Datatask today is a genuine Australian success story with Global success, having spent a decade developing the highest quality e-Learning courseware for our customers. Datatask has business partners, distributors, and customers all over the world using over 1000 hours of 'off-the-shelf' and custom written e-Learning courseware. Datatask is an expert in:
  1. Training - We apply Adult Learning Theory, Behaviours and Styles.
  2. e-Learning Courseware Development - Our products and services are based on adult learning, are produced with high levels of interactivity and are sold worldwide.
  3. Courseware Technology - Design standards and adult learning are incorporated into all our Authoring, Delivery, and Learning Management systems.
Company Milestones

  • 1975: Training consulting and face-to-face/seminar training established.
  • 1989: Recognising the scheduling difficulties and training costs involved for companies to train staff, Datatask commenced work on Computer Based Training.
  • 1991: Developed and launched Authoring Tools and e-Learning courseware for Datatrain Mainframe and Midrange operator training (Datatrain) under DOS.
  • 1995: Redeveloped and relaunched under Windows.
  • 1998: Redeveloped under Flash
  • 1998: Datatask was certified with the ISO 9001 quality standard.
  • 1999: Developed e-Learning solution Customer Connection Cycle (CCC) mapped against Certificate III in Telecommunications (Call Centers).
  • 2000: Datatask became a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
  • 2001: Datatask partnered with Computer Associates (CA) to create certified e-Learning for the CA product Unicenter.
  • 2002: Datatask launched eLearning People, the custom training division of Datatask Pty Ltd.
  • 2002: Datatask was audited and certified to the new ISO standard - ISO 9001:2000.
  • 2003: Redeveloped Courseware authoring tools and Datatrain courseware to incorporate Adult Learning principles.
  • 2004: Acquired OLA and merged eLearning People into OLA to establish Australia's best credentialed e-Learning consulting company.
  • 2007: Sold OLA and re-established the eLearning People brand. Released a new Learning Management System (LMS) to enable selling via the internet. Released Assessments and a Learning Plan generator to extend product range and support distributors.
